With renewed fire and commitment to missions, Bethany Milan gathered once again to culminate the three-day Anniversary and World Missions Conference on 17th of June, 2025.
Pastor Omar Monte opened the message with 1 Peter 4:8, where the Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins. This passage once again reminded every believer present—both online and onsite—that ultimately, all we do for the Lord flows from the love we have toward Him. Our missionaries and co-laborers also continued to join online in this momentous event.
Pastor Kent Jesalva then underlined the authority of Jesus Christ—authority that equips the believer to reach lost souls and point them to Christ, beyond his or her human capabilities. Missions, being the heartbeat of our Lord Jesus Christ, entails enabling from Him, following the believer’s full surrender to this calling. From the message, it was ingrained in the believers that the Lord does not call the qualified, but qualifies the called. Our identity in Christ is not characterized by what we can do, but rather, by what God will do through us as His faithful servants, championing the Gospel to every nation.
Missionary Pastor Alex Tacon (Pisa, Italy) and Missionary Pastor Rey Monderin (God’s Light Baptist Mission – Rome) stood in the pulpit and shared inspirational accounts of how God has been moving mightily through the Italian people, unwaveringly providing for His believers and sustaining them in His loving grace.
Pastor Gerry Nable (Bethany Baptist Church Makati) then preached that trust in God’s power should always overpower the fear and doubt that paralyze God’s people from moving forward in faith. He reminded us not to focus on the magnitude of the bondage and trials before us, but rather, to fix our gaze upon the Lord who empowers us through every situation.
Pastor Paul Chappell (Lancaster Baptist Church) followed with a message from 2 Corinthians 8:1–9, highlighting the beauty and glory in giving despite having little. Giving beyond what one can humanly afford flows from a deep understanding that God owns everything and has appointed us as stewards of His resources. The message spoke to our hearts: giving shows gratitude for past blessings and demonstrates faith that God’s provision will not run dry. The more we give, the more we make room for His resources to overflow in our lives. The greatest motivation for serving and giving is the cross—where Jesus Christ gave His life for the atonement of our sins. This is the greatest form of love and giving, one that cannot be surpassed by any gift we offer. Pastor Chappell reminded us of the principle of the harvest, and that God is able to make all grace abound toward us. He, being our source, holds unlimited riches and glory. We need not fear running dry, because the cup of Jesus never runs empty.
The day ended with the renewal of faith promise commitments by each of the brethren toward missions. It was an immense blessing to renew our commitment and faith in God and His cause—to bring souls to salvation from the fiery gates of eternal damnation.
The church rejoiced in 66 decisions made at the end of the conference: nine (9) committed to enrol in Bible school, seven (7) surrendered to be missionaries—including one (1) lady missionary—seven (7) pledged to be part of the church staff, and forty-two (42) committed to involvement in the ministry.
