Malta

Psalm 34:18

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

This verse serves as the spiritual foundation for the birth of the Malta outreach. The married couple, Ginalyn Cortez and Domingo Balancing, were on the verge of separation and had seemingly reached a dead end in their journey toward marriage restoration. But as a faithful follower of Christ, Ginalyn sought the Lord earnestly during this trying time.

Surely, it was not by accident that Ginalyn and Domingo, then burdened by sorrow, attended by faith the June 2022 World Missions Conference and Bethany Milan’s 5th Church Anniversary. It was through this conference that the couple first met Pastor Omar and the Bethany Milan brethren, unaware that the Lord would use this encounter to lay the foundation of His work in Malta.

The first Bible study in Malta was held on 8th September 2022, followed by the first Evangelistic Service on 20th November 2022, during which Malta was officially recognised as an outreach.

Currently, the Malta brethren meet in Sta. Venera every Sunday for Sunday School and Church Service, and every Wednesday for Midweek Service via livestream, while evangelistic services are held in Malta monthly.

Soulwinning is a top priority. Every Saturday afternoon, the Malta brethren go to Valletta, the capital city, to distribute gospel tracts, share the message of salvation, and invite others to attend church services.

The Lord continues to prove His faithfulness. From just ten (10) members at the end of 2022, the Malta brethren grew to over 30 by early 2025.

In January 2024, a preacher in charge, Nolimar Villegas, was installed to oversee the growing ministry in Malta.

Furthermore, members have taken up various ministries for the advancement of the Kingdom—namely, soulwinning, meal, transport, and media ministries. By God’s grace, the tech, music, and hosting ministries are also currently being built from the ground up.
