OUR

HISTORY

Y ear 2012, the mission work in Bethany Milan began humbly with just seven members. We initially gathered in a small space of less than 12 square meters, armed only with a pulpit, a hymn book, and a Bible. Despite our modest beginnings, we faithfully held our first service, trusting in God’s provision.

As our numbers grew, our small meeting place could no longer accommodate us. For months, we gathered in various parks every Sunday, demonstrating resilience and unwavering faith. By God’s grace, we secured a dedicated meeting place before celebrating our first mission anniversary.

On May 14, 2017, the mission church was officially established as a local church. Our members have since been instrumental in spreading the gospel, reaching Italians and people from other nations who are seeking God’s truth. This expansion reflects the church’s enduring commitment to the mission.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the church adapted once again. We launched a media ministry from a single room in a house—a modest beginning with a profound impact. Through this ministry, we shared the gospel across borders, leading thousands to Christ. By the end of the pandemic, the church had nearly doubled in size, a testament to their faith and God’s grace.

It was during this global crisis that the church not only grew but thrived. It became a launchpad for spreading God’s Word across Europe. Today, the church has established outreaches in Rome, Malta, Norway, Switzerland, and Poland, furthering its mission to share the gospel with those in need.

Bethany Baptist Church – Milan remains steadfast in its conviction that the call to missions extends beyond third-world countries. We stand in our film belief that no nation can truly be great without cleaving to God. Our vision is to “Turn Europe Upside Down” again.

The parade conveyed one central message: to pray for each nation to be reached by the Gospel, embodying the promise of our Lord in Acts 1:8 — “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Pastor Gerardo Nable, our sending pastor from Bethany Baptist Church Makati, Philippines.
